Appointment Information

We have a wide range of appointment times available for both doctors and practice nurses. Karen, our Nurse Practitioner, will see any minor illnesses or injuries on a daily basis. Please advise the reception staff if an appointment with the doctor or nurse practitioner is required.

Seeing the doctor may not always be necessary. Please check the
practice team and their roles to see who can deal with your questions best.

Appointments can be booked up to 3 months in advance. Many problems concerning advice can be dealt with over the phone and it may be more convenient for the doctor or nurse to telephone you. If you think this is appropriate please advise reception staff when you call. It might not be your usual GP who will contact you.

We will always deal with urgent requests that day. If surgeries are already fully booked, and you do not feel that your problem will wait until the next available routine appointment, the receptionist will arrange for a doctor or nurse to telephone you to discuss the most appropriate way of managing your request.

If you need an appointment with a nurse, please inform the receptionist of the type of appointment required, (eg. blood test, ear syringing, cervical smear, travel vaccine, dressing, blood pressure monitoring, new patient medical etc) so that adequate time can be made available.

GP appointments are routinely set at 10 minutes and nurse appointments at 15 minutes. If you feel you need more time please mention this to the receptionist when making the appointment.

If you are unable to keep an appointment please let us know as soon as possible in order for someone else to benefit from the appointment. It will also assist us in reducing the waiting time for patients.

As we are a training practice we are required on occasion to take video
recordings of patients' consultations with our registrar. These recordings will
be erased as soon as possible after use. No intimate physical examination will
be recorded and the camera will be switched off on the patient's request at any
time. Patients will be informed at the time of booking their appointment if the
video recorder is planned for use that day and may therefore take this
opportunity to refuse the invitation.

Western Cheshire Primary Care Trust has developed a primary care book-ahead service that will offer all patients, registered with a Western Cheshire GP practice, the opportunity to book a routine appointment with a GP or a Practice Nurse outside of usual GP practice opening hours.

Appointments will be bookable up to two weeks in advance and it is expected that once the service is fully up and running that patients will be booking at least 48hrs in advance. Appointments will be 10min slots.

Patients will be able to ring to book an appointment on 01244 385422 between 8:00am-6:00pm.

The service will be provided by local GPs and Practice Nurses, many of whom may already work for the Out of Hours service.
